Young children are becoming increasingly dependent on social networking sites. Kids as young as 8 and 9 are joining Facebook and Myspace. My nephew who is 7 already knows exactly what Facebook and Myspace is. Everytime I get on the computer he followers me and watches what sites I visit. Whenever I go on Facebook he burst out in joy. He constantly tells me to make him a page but I refuse and tell him that he doesn’t need it. I'm sure he will make his own page sooner or later. Are generation is built on computers and the youth and even the elderly are technologically advanced.
Families now communicate via text messages and social networking sites. Imagine your mother sending you a message on Facebook; it’s not the most pleasant feeling ever. We shouldn’t let our kids get used to social networking sites. They can be very dangerous. Pedophiles and online predators roam these sites looking for children. With the use of photo shop and many programs people can alter their images and pose as someone else.
